Old chestnuts and new

I've just had an (older) voter on the 'phone, worried that the wicked Tories were going to abolish the Winter Fuel Allowance.

Ah, that old chestnut.

A bit like the story some are putting round that we'll get rid of Sure Start.

Which is also completely untrue.

Labour canvassers: you've got your own policies, get out there and sell them.  Smearing your opponents just makes you look bad and does nothing to restore faith in our democracy.

Worse still, it frightens the most vulnerable in our community for no good reason.
