Brown expected to go to polls today

Candidates across the region say they are ready for the off as speculation mounts that Gordon Brown will meet the Queen today to ask for Parliament to be dissolved. In Ipswich, Ben Gummer is in the finishing straight of a race which started when he was selected three years' ago as the Tory candidate. “People are angry with politicians, but they know it is vital to vote if they want a change of government. “The doorstep reaction is very positive. I'm looking forward immensely to the campaign.”
