Ben Gummer is standing in the Ipswich Open Primary to be the next Conservative candidate for the town.
What is an Open Primary?
The Conservative Party believes that local people – no matter how they vote – should have the final say on who should be their Conservative candidate at the next general election. Four candidates – of which Ben Gummer is one – will be presented to the Open Primary meeting in turn. Attendees will be able to put questions to each candidate. They will also face an interview by a local journalist. At the end of the evening, those present will be given a vote on who they would like to have as their Conservative candidate.
When and where is the Open Primary?
The Open Primary will decide who will be the Conservative candidate for Ipswich at the next election. It will be held at 7.00 pm on Thursday, 16th August 2007 at the St Nicholas Centre, Cutler Street, Ipswich, IP1 1UQ.
